Tour Description
On this tour, we’ll go to Kulen Mountain which is at the heart of the Khmer empire. Many Cambodians consider Phnom Kulen to be a sacred place and often make pilgrimages there. This was the location where the king declared victory over the Java and the Khmer empire began. Here was the first capital city of the Khmer and it was an important quarry which provided the materials needed to build all the temples. You can see a beautiful waterfall, take a swim and enjoy lunch. We’ll also see a river bed which contains many carvings of lingas which are phallic symbols of the god Shiva. You can also see the largest reclining Buddha statue in Cambodia.

On this tour we’ll go to see Beng Mealea temple which is located around 40km from Siem Reap. It was built during the same time as Angkor Wat on the main highway to Kompong Svay. Beng Mealea is a Hindu temple and has been mostly left unrestored. It doesn’t get many visitors due to its location from Siem Reap and it’s a great place to explore without being surrounded by thousands of other tourists.
