Tour Description
On this tour we’ll go to see Beng Mealea temple which is located around 40km from Siem Reap. It was built during the same time as Angkor Wat on the main highway to Kompong Svay. Beng Mealea is a Hindu temple and has been mostly left unrestored. It doesn’t get many visitors due to its location from Siem Reap and it’s a great place to explore without being surrounded by thousands of other tourists.

We’ll also go to visit the Roluos Group of temples. These three temples were built a few hundred years before Angkor Wat and was once the capital city of the Khmer empire before it was moved to Angkor. We’ll See Bakong temple which was built towards the end of the 9th century. It was the official state temple for King Indravarman I and was built in stages. Next is Lolei, which again was built towards the end of the 9th century. It was dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and other members of the royal family. It’s though that the temple placed on the island represents Mount Meru, the home of the gods. The 3rd temple is called Preah Ko and was completed in 879 by King Indravarman I to honour his family.
